My specialist knowledge is in making community organisations sustainable and not reliant on the public purse. I am familiar with the legal, financial and tourism development agencies in Scotland and am working with SNH, The Highland Council, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, the Forestry Commission for Scotland and the Caithness Transport Forum on the North Highland Way project.
When I lived at Dunnet Head, I was the founder of the Dunnet Head Educational Trust (2003 – 2016) which served to raise the profile of Dunnet Head as the most northerly point on the UK mainland by providing information services and event management for the Caithness and Sutherland Walking Festival (2004-2008) as community events. As tourism traffic bypassed Caithness enroute to Orkney, I was keen to forge links across the Pentland Firth. You can see a short video of me at a Scottish National Rural Network event advocating cross Firth working.
I also created the project “LetsGoNorth meets LetsGoSouth” which look at historical and cultural links between Scotland and Spain. In July 2018 I launched LetsGoWest and this has been integrated into my web site at http://www.tinasfreelance.com
