Portadown to Newry Canal

The environment around the Craigavon lakes and the Portadown to Newry Canal is just magnificent.  The variety of trees is amazing as their branches reach for the sky or are so knarled they twist around each other like lovers entwined.  The peace and tranquillity of the canal is perfect for a Sunday afternoon stroll, or cycle.  The author has recently linked up with the Tree Council of Ireland under the company’s green credentials.

As an environmental company, Rachel Carson Enterprises is interested in heritage, interpretation and sustainable tourism and runs courses (link to the writeway.blog).  Forever interested in historical and cultural links between Scotland, the UK and Spain, the company is raising the profile of those linkages through the Hispanic Society of Carrickfergus.  Rachel Carson was, of course, the first environmentalist.
