se days and there are new shops opening all the time. However, the shopaholic might like to browse in other precincts and in the markets. The markets are a great source of entertainment as well as the shopping experience. The range of goods on sale never ceases to amaze an
d you can pick up some real bargains. You don’t always need the car, although getting to Nerja from Cómpeta can be problematic as there is no direct bus. You can easily take the early morning bus from Cómpeta and travel to Torre del Mar. There is a Dunnes stores (the Irish equivalent of Marks and Spencers) and a wide variety of quality shops and kiosks su
ch as shoe repair bars, key cutting services and opticians. There are plenty of places to have a coffee and rest your feet.
If you decide to go on the bus, be sure to check the bus timetables and ensure that you can get back to Torre del Mar in time for the last bus to Cómpeta. You can take the bus to by going to Torre del Mar and changing service. There are regular buses between Torre del Mar and Málaga / Nerja Many people drive to Torre del Mar, leave their car there and take the bus into Málaga to save any potential parking problems. Velėz Málaga is another great shopping destination, and the ambience of the old town makes it more interesting than the big chain stores. You can take in a show or the theatre while you are there. The town is like an old fashioned market town in the UK with jewellery shops and specialised cloth shops. The tax office (Hacienda) is also in Velėz Málaga, although the social security office is in Torre del Mar.
