I lived in Scotland for 15 years and ran a B&B and tearoom at Dunnet Head, the most northerly point of the UK mainland, with my then partner, Brian Sparks. From there I launched the North Highland Way, a 150 mile walking route from John o Groats to Durness.
I also contributed to walks on the North Highland Way through Walking World.
Looking for links between Scotland and Spain, I came upon the Dons of Westray
I have recently started to log my experiences in chronological order from the day I moved into Windhaven in March 2000 to when I left in October 2014 with a very recent article about the North of Scotland for GetOutside.
During the Spanish summer school in July 2018, we went to the Spanish chestnut tree in Cairncastle on the North Antrim coast in Northern Ireland! We had a great tour… I may even write it up one day! You can join the Hispanic Society of Carrickfergus and join us on such tours. The next one will be to the Alhama de Granada in Spain in April 2019.
Alhama de Granada
Alhama de Granada is a beautiful little town away from the bustle of the coast of Malaga. The chasm and the bird life is amazing. I will be leading a tour there on 12th December 2018 from either Competa or Algarrobo Costa.
Eye on Spain… I have contributed to several blogs on Eye on Spain.
I also have blogs on This is Spain
I wrote a blog when I was in Spain in April 2018 with a group of people.
Travels through history
I contributed to the Travels Thru History web page with romantic castles in Spain.
